Make your donation worth even more

Thank you for your support and for considering to Gift Aid your donation.

If you are a UK tax payer, you can increase the value of your support to BTO, at no extra cost to you, by allowing us to claim the tax back on your donations.

Gift Aid is a scheme from HM Revenue & Customs that allows us to reclaim an extra 25% at the current basic rate of tax on your donations made during the past 4 years, as well as on all future donations, without costing you a penny.

In order for your donations to qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April of one year to 5 April of the next year) at least equal to the tax amount all charities reclaim on all donations (currently 25p for every £1 you donate).

More about your Gift Aid declaration

If you choose “Yes...” above, you are confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

  • Please remember to notify BTO if you: want to cancel this declaration, change your name, change your address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

If you choose “No, I am not a UK taxpayer”, you are confirming that you are ending any existing Gift Aid declarations with BTO from this date and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
